The Romper Room

Yes, I know I'm biased, but oh my word, Does it get any cuter than that???
Stick around my friends, stick around.

Anyhoo, this past weekend we made a quick visit to our local annual downtown annual street festival, Bele Chere. We caught up with our friends the Aldays and their little girl, Mary Adelyn.
She and John are just two weeks apart and I'm pretty sure they were handing out all the cuteness during that particular fortnight.

We spent the rest of the weekend in our neighborhood of West Asheville: eating pub lunches, watching soccer and oh yes, letting John ride Flex for the camera.

Mom then took a few spare moments and extra fabric to make this reversible romper for John! Super-cute! And he models it SO well!
That's all from the Manor for now...

Beach Bums

Here are a few shots from our trip to the beach!!! We managed to get a few hours on the beach in between the rain clouds....

John did not care for crashing waves, but hanging out with his toes in the sand in a little tide pool was just his speed.

Fun times! Yay Hilton Head and thanks Nan West!

A Plethora of Missing Posts

So as John approaches his 8th month birthday, mom has got some catching up to do!

We have had a very busy few weeks indeed.

Our journeys started with a trip to Richmond to see my good friend Lindsay who just gave birth to beautiful twin boys, Oliver and Gabriel. Congrats, guys!

Next the family made the drive down to Warner Robins to celebrate the Fourth of July and Nan West's birthday (a little early).

This was followed by a beautiful couple of days in the Low country of South Carolina and Georgia, specifically, Hilton Head and Savannah. Check out the beach babes! We were also able to spend some time visiting with my good friend Caroline who is expecting her first bundle in September!

We got some good mileage out of our beautiful Bumbleride stroller, which handled the cobblestones and ferry rides of Savannah with ease!

Finally, Johnny and Mommy spent a week hanging with Aunt Vicki while Nan West took a much deserved cruise! During this week you can see that John mastered his skills of devouring of solid foods(with a lot of coaching from Aunt Vicki) and of sitting up all by himself.

All travel complete for now, we are glad to be home and Flex is glad to have someone back on his level!

Next trip - to see the Partridges, Bates, and English Mates!

Happy Daddy Addy Day!!!

We had a lovely Father's Day here at the Manor. In fact, Adam said it was better than his birthday!

The day started with some quality father son time in the AM while mommy slept in.

Then mommy prepared a "full American-English" breakfast for daddy which included everything except the blood pudding. And he ate it ALL.

Then daddy spent the day with his favorite things: Bill Murray movies, watching and playing soccer, his NEW Ghostbusters video game, and, of course his family.

The day wrapped up with a homemade curry for daddy's dinner, but as you can see, John didn't stay up for that.

Thanks for all you do Daddy! We Love You!!!

Glorious Grandparent Gala

Well this kid is certainly lucky to have the most wonderful grandparents on the planet. We have been lucky to spend some real quality time with them all in these last weeks. And I know what you are thinking - Hmmmm, maybe all of John's cuteness isn't just from Adam and Vicki! ;)

Little Nugget of Joy

Here we are with a full fledged 6 month old on our hands! At John's 6 month check-up he weighed in at 13lbs 100z. Of course that was two weeks ago. He's now getting a regular course of solid foods, including sweet potatoes, bananas, and-we tried some advacado but the explosive diaper situation that followed has mom reluctant to try that again for a few weeks!
So with all that yummy hitting his tummy, he now weighs 14lbs and 5oz!
As the photos will show we have been very
busy at Nan West's house in the pool and visiting with our friends the Aldays. John has also been enjoying his bouncy chair and brand new high chair from Mr and Mrs Rawls. Many Thanks!
And, of course, there is the obligatory teddy bear shot.

It's enough to wear the boys out as you'll see in the last photo.
My apologies for the layout - one day I'll figure this thing out!

An Eventful 6th Month!

Well, as we approach John's 6 month milestone, we have much to report. The first piece of news is that we are enjoying a wonderful visit from John's Grandma and Grandpa Partridge. Both have proven to be a huge help around the house for Adam and me. Flexford has never had so many walks!
We also celebrated John's Christening dedication with some friends and family in a ceremony by our good friend Byron Alday. All the grandparents were very proud! Uncle Pete was also on hand filling the role of The Godfather.
